No, both policemen and the protesters are brainless idiots. The protesters have no program, they're just young and need their revolution. They'll regret it when they get older... Shortsighted.
No, what they will regret is that they did not started protesting even earlier.
As far as I can tell Spain has one of the highest unemployment rates of youths, so it is not them being "idiotic", but them standing up for their rights and for their future.
Lo habéis conseguido: los policías catalanes han quedado como todos unos hijos de puta en todo el mundo, y sois un ejemplo a seguir para países como el nuestro. ¡Ánimo!
I never get this 'oh it is our right to have a job' thing. Why would the government have to take care of that? Start a company if you want work. Oh, nobody wants you to work for them? Complain tot hose who don't employ you, not your government...
Surely, if the government makes it hard to start up a company or something like that, sjees, yes, complain, protest. But "I have a right to a job", dude, like they come out of the government's asses... The problem in Spain is that the government spend TOO MUCH money, yes, that was in part used to 'create jobs' (trow money at people for doing something without much value). So now, the government has to lower expenses, pay all that back. They should've done it earlier and this problem wouldn't have been there...
I'd be the last person to say the government is doing a great job, in Spain or anywhere else. But to me, it seems the protests don't want to clean the shit up - they want to spend MORE money, not less. But if you don't HAVE the frickin' money, isn't it stupid to keep spending?
Somehow people seem to think accounting works different between individuals vs governments - YOU can't buy a car without income, and if you do it by borrowing, you're stupid. But if the government refuses to borrow money to spend on stuff they can't afford, everyone is like "but dude, I have a RIGHT to a job!".
Get real. The government screwed up - past generations were way too rich, spend more than they had. Now the youth has to pay up. Yes, that sucks. But don't complain to the government trying to clean up - complain to those who spend too much. Let people work until they are 70. Lower pensions. Because THEY profited from the borrowing YOU have to pay back! Or, if you don't want your parents to pay back, well, get over it and start a company...
OK, being a bit black and white here, sorry. It's just so frustrating to see people go to the streets screaming "spend more spend more" while the money just ISN'T THERE. Due to years of mis-management and OVER SPENDING.
Lock up anyone who spend too much the last 10 years and get the money back from everyone who profited (everyone above 5 years old, I suppose). Or - get over it...
Life sucks...
BTW no matter what, as long as a protest is peaceful and doesn't cost the country a shitload of (already tight) money, violence is wrong... So -1 for the police there...
Jos, you are so right. "What? Can't find a job? Start a business!! What? You can't because the government restricts you in so many ways? Well, why don't you complain to the government about how they are fucking your life up?" Oh no, but nobody can complain about daddy government, even when daddy government sends men with batons and guns to use violence against people. DADDY IS ALWAYS GOOD, EVEN WHEN HE IS BAD.
I totally agree. Most people are CHILDREN who think that money grows on trees and jobs come out of government's asses.

Police fools - they are all alike.
Esto pone de mala leche a cualquiera, qué impotencia verlo desde fuera de España... ¡Ánimo!

@bothsides The protesters have a very definite program: http://www.democraciarealya.es/?page_id=234
Ah yes, reminds me of Egypt. Gandhi was right. "First the ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you and then you win. "

What did you expect from an organization funded by violence whose sole purpose is to inflict violence_
