I have just merged to master a branch by Fabio D'Urso that lets you configure the review tools that appear in the review bar.
This way you can decide that by default you want your highlighter to be green instead of yellow. Or even have two highlighters in the review bar.
Please test and enjoy it :-)

Aw yeah! Cool feature.
This is great! Thanks to the devs.
I hope that someday Okular will have tab support as well.
Hi about handwritten pdf annotation in okular? that would be cool!
Are these stored as standard elements in PDF's? Or are they still stored separately?
Thanks so much!
Great! It will save a lot of time as I do highlight in 2-3 different colors, to make a second review easier. Having several highlighters with different settings will save me quite a few clicks for every single act of highlighting.
Thanks to all of you for this outstanding piece of software! :)
Q: Is there a chance that we will see saving to PDFs in the future?
This is awesome! Finally i don't have to rely on proprietary PDF applications running under wine. Now if you could save those more easily into the files themselves, that would be great.
About saving to PDF: See http://docs.kde.org/stable/en/kdegraphics/okular/annotations.html
"Since Okular 0.15 you can also save annotations directly into PDF files. This feature is only available if Okular has been built with version 0.20 or later of Poppler rendering library. You can use File → Save As... to save the copy of PDF file with annotations."

Thanks for this awesome feature! I mainly use the highlighter and pop-up note with different colors, so it will definitely make Okular more pleasant to use.
@Anonymous1: What do you mean with "handwritten annotation"?
@Anonymous3 and @Anonymous5: See what Hans says
